Nice blog Noel, The Isles have play much better hockey of late and the main thing is they are winning and finding ways to win instead of finding ways to lose as we were accustomed to in the first 15 games of the season.

Heres another article about the President of Ops. / Gm job :

I really hope any new president does not plan on keeping Garth and Cappy. The new president should bring their own people in. If it's Tallon then he can be president and GM.

As long as Garth is in charge, there will be no progress. He is even bigger problem that the coach. Both need to go ASAP

I really hope Ledecky does not plan on brining in a president to work with Garth. Garth is not a young up and coming GM that a president can work with. Garth and Cappy both had their chance.

Honestly Ses, I think a lot will be determined by the success or disappointment of the Islanders season imho. I think at this point L and M will let this team, that Garth has constructed and this staffed that he has backed continually sink or swim, without any additional moves.
I think by the end of this season a PoHO's will be in place and it will be up to him to hire the new GM and in turn with the new GM's input hire the staff, from scouting, player development, coaching etc.

I just do not want any of the nonsense the Jets did with keeping the coach and firing the GM. Isles need a clean break. 10 years for Garth and 7 for Cappy is more than enough.

It seems to me that you guys are between a rock and a hard place. Because of the slow start if you make the playoffs, and that's a big if it might save their jobs and your stuck in the same place. It's almost like they have to lose 15 out of 20 to get them fired. 500 hockey to me seems to ensure that the country club is safe.

No doubt. They both had their chance and they couldn't get it done. Time for some new management.

I try to be positive and say they did get a lot of things done working with this financial situation and the NVMC issues.

Question is, can they take the team to the next level?
Can this team learn to play the next level of hockey and yes the coach and GM are integral of course. They were successful at the college level and though this is the NHL, it is not nuclear physics, so they are capable of learning.

There has been more talk on here of the Isles win/Crappy stays, Isles lose/Crappy goes, so we the fans lose either way (in a sense) than there have been donkey shows in Tijuana.

Well, stop it.
I think the players, for the most part, are capable of taking it to the next level. This team as it sits is not a cup contender. The coaching staff on the other hand is not capable. There is no accountability, there are no in-game adjustments, time-outs are held onto like crackers on a life raft adrift at sea, and no system. They are constantly out-coached and looking clueless behind the bench. They do not know how to develop young players, nor do they know how to utilize veteran players to maximize their production.

Ledecky mentioned he was expecting to win a couple of rounds this year. I hope he sticks to his word and Garth and Cappy will be out unless the Isles have a long playoff run. Isles just making the playoffs is not a big deal anymore.

Vanek was right. Entire teams don't want to go to BK. https://twitter.com/jprut...status/806888910974492673

Why yes, yes I can.
However, I make a bigger mess than I clean up so, there's a trade off.
